创作背景

伊尔维萨克兄弟是一个挪威的喜剧演员二人组，他们主持的脱口秀电视节目在挪威本地有不少忠实观众，而《狐狸叫》原本是他们为了宣传新一季节目开播而制作的宣传歌曲。这首歌犹如童谣的歌词注定了它的搞笑色彩。在接受MTV台采访时，歌曲原唱伊尔维萨克兄弟还戏称：“我们刚写完《狐狸叫》时就在想，它一定要打败Lady Gaga。”这虽然是一句玩笑，但仍然可以看出两人对自己“神曲”的信心。
