（二）注重协调企业多边财务关系主体的相关利益，是确立企业理财目标的一个重要依据。这里的相关利益主体包括所有者和经营者、企业内部的员工、企业的债权人以及其他合作伙伴，理财目标只有充分考虑这些相关主体的利益才是合理的。
（三）关注社会责任已经引入企业理财目标的内容。尽管对企业理财目标如何具体体现社会责任还未进行明确的探讨，但是，众多学者开始关注企业理财目标中的社会责任问题。有的认为承担社会责任是实现企业理财目标的基本约束条件；有的认为承担社会责任是企业理财的目标之一等等。可以得出这样的结论：未来的企业理财目标必须考虑社会责任与社会利益。
（四）确立企业的理财目标更应看重企业的长期利益。学者们对利润最大化等理财目标的批评，反映出学者们的一种期望：容易导致企业经营行为短期化的理财目标不是好目标。因此，学者们的研究成果试图确立一个有利于企业长远发展的理财目标，在这样的理财目标中，体现资金的时间价值、经营的风险价值和长期效益。
（五）区分不同型别企业的财务管理目标将成为该领域研究的趋势之一。在我国现行的研究中，有的学者开始探讨中小企业的理财目标、亏损企业的理财目标、高科技企业的理财目标、上市公司的理财目标和非上市企业的理财目标等。揭示了课题研究的一个趋势：企业财务管理目标正逐步走向深入，向具体化发展。应当说，这种研究思路是正确的，它将有力推动企业理财目标研究的实证化和针对性。与此同时，企业理财目标也可能在企业内部进一步分解，将总体财务目标具体落实到各级管理者的理财目标。
