It is a very modern house, so it looks strange to some people. It must be the only modern house in the district.

had:received, she es, she will get a surprise.
主句中用一般将来时，条件状语从句用一般现在时来表达一般将来时, are now living in a beautiful new house in the country.
the country:the countryside 乡间, house was pleted five months ago.
be pleted:被完工(喜欢与建筑工程连用)
注意房屋完工不能用be finished
比较plete和finish
plete the building
finish/plete homework
finish/plete doing sth.某事做完了
plete(adj.) : 完全的, 完整的
《鲁迅全集》中的 “全集” 就用 “plete”, on it had begun before my sister left.
work on it:指the building of the house (盖房子)这件工作；以非人称词做主语，后未用被动语态，注意和中文的区别
work：工作，活;在这里是抽象的不可数名词，因此它前面不需要加冠词,6.I told her that she could stay with us.
stay: to remain as a guest or lodger 留下来做客
注意：stay为短期逗留，此处不用leave
stay with:固定搭配，表示“跟……暂住在一起”, must be the only modern house in the district.
must be:表肯定的推测
the only:唯一的（注意一定要加上定冠词the）
比较district,area,region
district:行政区域,一般指具某种特征的区域
area:包容范围最广
region:某个特定的地区,一般范围比较大,第四部分 KEY STRUCTURES AND USAGE, ,感官有关的动词，后直接跟adj.，这样的动词相当于一个连系动词
It is a very modern house, so it looks strange to some people.
He seems/looks angry.
She appeared sleepy.
It sounds good.
This room smells terrible.
Silk feels very soft.
This coffee tastes very strong.
