Falstaff says
“Good luck lies in odd say
there is divinity in odd numbers

奇数 古罗马诗人维吉尔曾说：“神喜欢奇数。”在莎士比亚《温莎的风流妇人》里，福尔摩斯塔夫说：“碰上单数会有好运气……据说单数是神圣的，无论是出生、机缘还是死亡，都跟单数有关。”奇数1，3，5，7，9起的作用似乎总大于偶数。
题外话：中国人有崇偶心理，但似乎不应夸大。对6与8的特别崇拜，以及对4的嫌弃都是后起的，根基很浅。在中国传统文化里，从1到10，没有一个数字不神祕。
