Basketball superstar Yao Ming and famous singer Peng Liyuan became the new faces of China’s anti-smoking campaign on Monday. It is believed that they will appear in public places telling people to s smoking and to give up this bad habit. Yao Ming, the most suessful Chinese NBA player, appeared in a 2006 advert asking Chinese people not to eat shark fin as part of a Wild Aid campaign to save shaeks from dying out. Peng Liyuan also joined a public campaign to educate people not to look dowm on HIV / AIDS-related people. ―We hope famous people, like Yao Ming and Peng Liyuan, will encourage more people to join in anti-smoking activities. The public should liver a healthier life without tobacoo(烟草)use,‖ said an official of the CATC. It is reported that about 350 million Chinese, or nearly 27% of the country’s total population, smoke and use one third of the tobao products in the world. Each year about one million Chinese die from lung(肺) cancer and diseases that can be directly related to tobao use, aording to the CATC. Secondhand smoke has also put the health of 540 million Chinese under threat (威胁), so China has banned smoking in public places. The most urgent task is to ban smoking at all indoor public places and workplaces by 2011. Tobao control will be hard and take a long time in China. The CATC’s anti-smoking campaign was also supported by other Chinese famous people including table tennis player Zhang Yining and actor Pu Cunxin.

Nutrition experts point out that it is not good to eat too much at one meal because it may cause unhealthy changes in the digestive tract(消化道).They also say that a balanced diet is very helpful in avoiding sub-health.
