as building construction, fitment, outdoor facility construction, transportation, operation, waste treatment, property management,
demolition, and disposal, with related material, equipment, energy and manpower inputs inclusively covered.
With existing carbon intensity databases supportive for the systems carbon aount extensively reviewed, the basic
scheme and algorithm for multi-scale input–output analysis for emission intensities are presented for the construction of
more consistent carbon intensity databases for the globalized economies characterized by multi-scales.
Besides for post-assessment of life-cycle performance of building, the multi-scale consistent databases with extensive coverage
in both scales and objectives are useful to pare the carbon emissions embodied in substitutable materials from different
sources, which is essential for low-carbon planning, procurement and supply chain design, and logistics management.
